Record

Record a phone call on your Mac.

If the call runs through your Mac, Humla records it like any other app; otherwise put it on speaker and it captures the room.

Step by step

How to record a phone call on your Mac.

  1. 1.Download Humla and grant Microphone and Screen Recording permission.
  2. 2.Take the call through your Mac — a softphone/VoIP app, or your iPhone handed off to the Mac — or put it on speakerphone next to your Mac.
  3. 3.Hit Record. Humla captures the Mac's audio (for a routed call) or your mic (for a speakerphone call).
  4. 4.Take notes while it transcribes on-device; press Stop when the call ends.
  5. 5.Humla labels the speakers and writes a summary on your Mac.

A call on a phone only reaches Humla if it's routed to your Mac (a softphone/VoIP app, or your iPhone handed off to the Mac) or on speakerphone near the mic. Always record with the other party's consent.

FAQ

Can Humla record a call from my iPhone?+

Only if the call audio reaches your Mac — for example via a Mac softphone app, Continuity/handoff, or speakerphone near the mic.

Is recording a call legal?+

It depends on where you and the other party are; many places require all-party consent. Always get consent first. This isn't legal advice.
