What is Meeting bot?

A meeting bot is an automated participant that joins a video call to record and transcribe it, appearing in the attendee list like another guest.

What it means.

  • Most cloud notetakers (Otter, Fireflies, Read.ai) work this way, which means everyone on the call can see that it's being recorded by a third party.
  • Humla uses no bot: it records your Mac's own audio directly, so nothing joins the call and the other side sees no recorder.
